Forget refunds!
They just seem to ignore requests for refunds as other people have observed. I sent back my tickets and never heard a thing...once I read the reviews here I didn't waste my time pursuing it...I have never used them since.

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. Still waiting on a refund of £200+ 8 months from purchase. constantly giving wrong information and the run around when contacted. No way of contacting other than via email. Transport focus (ombudsman) powerless to intervene. Never again!

Takethetrain is now charging admin fees
Takethetrain is now charging an administration fee even if you collect tickets at the station. Better option is to use other providers who do not charge a fee!

OK until you want a refund!
Applied for a refund for a journey not taken in March due to snow. Nearly three months later I've heard nothing. By contrast Virgin East Coast pay out within weeks and also make it much easier to apply. There are better options, so why bother using people who don't care?

I have booked dozens of trains through…
I have booked dozens of trains through this website. However when I needed a refund for one journey the process has been a nightmare. It is a month since I returned the unused tickets using their form and yet I have not had my money returned to me. I will not use TakeTheTrain again. Michael Update : It is now two months and still no refund. They have replied to my emails saying that they are an internet-based company and do not publish a phone number.

I requested a refund on my ticket as I was unable to travel. I followed the process on their website which said allow 28 days for refunds. This was on 23rd October and it is now 4th December. I contacted them today and was told it would be the end of next week! After using this company regularly I will not be using them again. I would rather pay the booking fee on other sites!

Refund was less than contracted and I was mis sold ticket in first place
I got sold the wrong ticket. Cost me £53. I followed the returns and refunds procedure. It said I would be refunded less £10 admin fee (that means £43) within 6 weeks. 6 weeks came and went. I wrote a letter giving them 2 weeks more. They sent money to my bank account but only £28. I am taking this further but I would not recommend anybody ever use this company. I asked for a RETURN not a DAY RETURN. My outward journey was late afternoon and it would not have been possible to even get a train back the same day, so day return was irrelevant, but their website only gave me day return options and was very misleading. They are a bunch of crooks.

AVOID - they don't have any way of contacting them
Bought £60 ticket, sent back tickets to claim refund, disappeared into a black hole despite me having proof of postage. I'm out of money and nothing I can do about it. They claim they don't have a phone number as they're an 'online business' - but they don't have a live chat either. The reason they make you post them letters and write them emails is simply so they can completely ignore you!

Dodgy!
Just tried to book tickets with them, when I went to pay kept saying there was a problem with sections I had filled out, but I know I had filled them in correctly. In the end I contacted my bank and they are now watching my account. Been on some train forums who are saying they are dodgy too. Do not use, as something is not quite right.

Waste of time and poor service
Spent half an hour booking four trips on Saturday got an email Monday to say no bookings were valid as payment system had crashed . I have success codes to obtain tickets but they say not valid and when I rebooked for the Tuesday the price had gone up £5.20 not huge money but they would not credit me Will be using thetrainline in future Thanks and not sad at. Leaving you as acustomer
