Fidor UK have now ceased operations in the UK. Because they were completely useless.

Fidor may not yet have all the bells…
Fidor may not yet have all the bells and whistles of other banks, but if you want no nonsense banking facilities without the noise, with a family orientated customer services approach, then they are probably the bank for you. You also get access to their Smart Community social media platform and get paid for actively participating. Highly recommended.

A complete shambles & utter waste of time.
Where to start.... I have always been under the impression that a bank was somewhere that one could safely transfer their money to/from without worries, pay their bills, start/stop direct debits, use from one's mobile app when needed, get timely support, etc, etc - but it seems Fidor UK have a different approach to banking & not in a good way. There's no direct debit support, transfers take forever if they happen at all, there's no IBAN number so international transfers are a no-go, there's no android app at all so no mobile banking, support is part time - office hours only - so if something bad happens on a Friday evening you can't get support until Monday morning if you're lucky. These are just a few examples of how bad a service Fidor UK are, how they can call themselves a bank is beyond me. Furthermore, their online forum is full of nothing but spam, customer complaints about poor service, missing payments & lack of any kind of customer support - that is until they delete them all leaving only spam. After spending about an hour reading some true horror stories from customers & their scripted customer support responses, I decided to abandon my plan to use Fidor UK as a bank, not just because of their complete disdain for their own customers, but also because they don't provide any actual useful banking services at all. Avoid this shambolic mess at all costs.

Why do I have to give 1 star?
Have to agree with PatMan. An utterly useless apology for a bank. Not even the most basic facilites on offer. Constantly deleting wholly accurate uncomplimentary posts on their so called community pages. They treat their customers and their money with utter contempt. An amateur, part time outfit which only operates 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, closed bank holidays and weekends, as a consequence "faster payments" can take up to 5, yes you read it right, 5 days to proccess, and that's only if their over zealous compliance team don't get their hands on it. If you're considering opening an account with this shower, please do some research first, then go somewhere, no, anywhere else

WORST. BANK. EVER. Disfunctional, ignorant & amateurish.
The first line of text on Fidor UK's website reads: "Tired of the old banks that don't listen to customers?" Yes, I am and Fidor UK is probably the worst of them. For over 3 years they have promised their customers many things, but in reality they have done absolutely nothing apart from reduce interest rates & cancel services. They completely ignore customers feedback on their "community forum" which is full of customer complaints ranging from missing/slow deposits/withdrawals, slow transfers, lack of customer support, broken promises of an android app, etc, etc. They seem incapable of managing to do the very basics of banking and seem to be a part time operation who are not even sure themselves when they are open or not. The worst bank I have ever had the misfortune to sign up with & I wouldn't recommend this "bank" to my worst enemy - they truly are abysmal. Use a proper bank, it will be safer, less stressful, more secure & you will not be ignored like Fidor UK do with their customers. Truly useless - AVOID!! AVOID!! Edit: So, Fidor reply 6 months after my review - I'm surprised they even bothered. I've not used this useless bank account since my review, so have no clue what they are trying to do, but I presume they are simply trying to save their embarrasment - particularly as they have now been put up for sale by their owners due to their massive losses. STAY AWAY FROM THIS USELESS BANK & IT'S DUMB FORUM FULL OF QUESTIONABLE ACCOUNTS.
