Disusted
Joined in February. The person concerned got himself into a mess.
I ended up with 2 different numbers but was reassured that 1 would be cancelled. Still had 2 lots of subs debited from my a/c.
3 weeks later still waiting for refund. takes over 30 mins a time to get through. cannot email them as their service provider keeps rejecting the mail.
Not everything I have paid for has been sent out
Absolutely disgusted. Are these really the people who are going to assist me with booking sites etc

Poor customer care or communication
I have been a member for more than ten years. Over three months ago, I paid for my membership by direct debit. I can see from my bank statement the payment was made, yet my membership has not been renewed. This means I have not been able to use certificated campsites during recent trips. I have emailed and telephoned them and I get no meaningful response or action. I can only assume they do not value my membership.

We recently stayed at the Keswick site…
We recently stayed at the Keswick site - see my wife’s review below. On top of all that she has posted they also appear to be filtering posts onto their own website and allow nothing other than good reviews to be posted. Truly abysmal outfit.

Keswick flagship site a total nightmare because of wardens attitude!
We recently stayed at the Keswick site of this establishment, supposedly their flagship site!!
Our stay ruined by an egotistical, obnoxious, rude and rules driven warden
We suffered 5 nights under the guise of a holiday at this truly dreadful place. Such a shame as the location is stunning but everything totally overshadowed by the rules of a crazy and despotic warden. In fact this man’s job title should be changed to Camp Commandant! We called at the site office three time when it was stated it should have been open to try and resolve our issues and no one was ever there… neither do they return phone calls when messages are left!
We came in our 8.8 metre moho and our car so my wife, a photographer, could go out in her car to capture the beautiful sunrises in the area.. How stupid were we to think she would be able to do this whilst on holiday.
There is a “quiet” rule between 11 and 7, which we both fully understand but we were told we could not get out (were refused the ability to exit in our car!!) of the barrier before 7am and would have to park in Keswick Rugby Clubs car park, or Booths, which are both unsecure and both inconvenient and unsafe for my wife and who would not have been able to load her car with her kit the day before.
Interestingly, there are Cumbria Police notices on the sites information boards not to leave valuables in quiet or insecure places, but this is exactly what the warden expected us to do with a new car.
To add insult to injury there were 7-8 car parking spaces just on the other side of the barrier, that were closed off and unusable. Apparently for operational reasons!! We happened to call at the sister site in Braithwaite where the lady we spoke to was lovely. She said she worked at the Keswick site last year and these spaces were closed off because of Covid and should have re-opened again now.
The warden was just downright rude and refused to even consider helping us, his rules are the rules. We said we would look elsewhere and want a refund to which he refused and said our reason for wanting to leave (i.e wanting to enjoy the sunrise and get out before 7 in our car) was not valid.
We had numerous conversations with head office, most of them fruitless, as they seemed to condone the behaviour of this dreadful man. One lady, Jesse, was amazing and eventually got us a refund for the days we moved.
Other points to note are;
The shower block was dirty, used plasters found on one of the seats, clearly not been cleaned up.
An inability to put a wash on after 6pm….. why???? Another stupid rule.
The ground was a mud bath, as we left a caravan was being tractored out!
Weeds everywhere, no attention and care given to the site.
We left and came to a CAMC club and were welcomed with warm smiles from everyone…. We can now enjoy the rest of our holiday without it being spoilt by a man who clearly is in the wrong job. Take a look at some of the other reviews of this place…… I wish I had before we booked…!!!

Appalling attitude to club members
Booked a site with them more than 2 months ago and have just noticed that exactly the same booking at exactly the same site is now £50 cheaper.
Rung customer services only to be told by a condescending girl that I could either like it and lump it or cancel for a refund of my deposit.
Of course I cancelled on the spot and not only will I never consider one of their sites again, but will also cancel my club membership.
How to win friends and influence people, eh?
What a bunch of shysters.

Diabolically poor website!!
Diabolically poor website!!! I have been a member of The CCC for one year and just had an auto renew on my membership (by mistake). I can confirm that EVERY TIME I've tried to login to the CCC site with my credentials that I cut and paste from a dongle (to ensure there are no typo errors), I get a note back telling me that my credentials are incorrect and I have four more attempts to login. So after my four attempts expire, after cutting and pasting my correct credentials, I then have the option to reset my password. Even that doesn't work! So, after a note to customer service, I am advised to "close down your browser, or web browsing app, reopen a new session and head back to the Club’s website and attempt to login again. If this still doesn’t work, you may find that clearing the cache and cookies on your PC or device helps to fix the problem". And if that doesn't work (WHICH IT DIDN'T), then I am advised to call Customer Service (WHICH IS ALWAYS ENGAGED). This is frustrating the first time, but I've had the pleasure of experiencing this EVERY TIME I LOGIN!!!! I can promise that next year when it comes time for renewal, I WILL NOT be renewing my membership. The site is c%*p and I would advise anyone to stay away from it.

Decided to join the camping and caravan…
Decided to join the camping and caravan club as I had been a member years ago. I paid £42 to join through the digital membership. I had a weekend off at the end of April so tried to book Moffat campsite only to discover it was £71 for 2 nights. So between the joining fee and the campsite it was £113 for my two nights. I could stay in a premier inn for £35 a night......what a joke. All you get is electric hook up and the use of the toilet block. I quickly cancelled my membership. Even if the joining fee was a one off payment but to charge you every year is a con.

Pay your Premium monthly ?
I was insured with them for 8 years with no claim during that time. Sold my Motorhome halfway through the following year and cancelled the insurance.Be warned that they will charge you for a full years insurance even though you do not own the van anymore. They will chase you for the money months or years later when they finally get their terrible admin sorted out. Be warned and stay away.

Well maintained and run sites - owned by members
We have our caravan in store at Canterbury. We always have a friendly reception and facilities are well tended when we stay on the site. We have had similar experience at other Club sites (in tents and caravans).

My insurance premium on my campervan…
My insurance premium on my campervan went from £300 to £600 with the Camping and Caravanning Club for no apparent reason and without a word of explanation. The complaints procedure got me nowhere. I couldn't get their on-line renewal system to work anyway. In various ways the Club seems to live in the technological dark ages.
